Birth Beat 2019 Christmas Gift Guide
Welcome to our second annual Birth Beat Christmas Gift Guide!
This is one of my favourite times of the year. Not just because I get to curate and write the gift guide, (that’s hardly work is it?!) but for the end-of-year excitement in the air, catch-ups with friends and family as well as that blissful in-between time between Christmas and New Year where there’s not too much to do except eat, relax and enjoy time with my little family.
When it comes to gift-giving, I always go for quality over quantity. This year for the gift guide, I’ve also uncovered some awesome gifts that I found through @buyfromthebush – helping to support small, local businesses in regional Australia.
There’s a little inspiration for the whole family on this year’s list; thoughtful, useful and beautiful quality so that the gifts last well beyond Christmas morning.

Gifts for babies
If you’ve ever felt the softness of bamboo sheets, you’ll know why this would make an awesome gift for any new bub. 100% organic and free from any nasties, this is perfect for baby’s soft and delicate skin. Best of all, The Good Gift Co is a regionally based business in Tamworth, NSW (my hometown!).
A timeless favourite, Flatout Bears make the best comforters for babies and little children alike. They’re made from 100% lambswool and are soooo soft and cuddly. I’ve seen these last for years and years, carried around by kids everywhere they go. They certainly are made to last!

This pack is perfect for any new mum for a bit of pampering and something for bub too. Another awesome find from local business The Good Gift Co. This is a luxuriously soft Turkish beach towel that is lightweight and quick to dry. Great for Christmas holiday beach escapes.

I love this backpack, in fact I’d totally use it myself! These days, so many Dads are out and about with bub too and some may not be as keen to carry around a handbag-style nappy bag! This backpack would be perfect as a nappy bag and would double as a great carry-on for business trips. It has lots of pockets and compartments and folds-out to make finding everything super simple.
OK, OK undies for Dad for Christmas isn’t the most original gift idea. But seriously, how funky are these Funky Undies from Mink & Me?! Each pair is completely unique and best of all they were a #buyfromthebush find. Mink & Me is based in Coonamble North West NSW.

Summer is here and little girls of all ages will love this gorgeous, reversible swimsuit. It’s SPF 50+ and essentially 2 pairs for the price of 1! Arch N Ollie was a #buyfromthebush find, based in Naughton’s Gap regional NSW.
Kidlets of all ages will love this book. Adults too! It’s full of incredible facts about all kinds of animals, many of which you’ll have never heard before. The illustrations are colourful and engaging and every time you open it, you’ll find something new. An awesome summertime read for the whole family!
9. Arch N Ollie Sailor Ice Reversible Rashie
Just like the little girl’s swimsuit, this rashie is SPF 50+ and reversible. A summer essential with two colourful designs that little boys will think is super cool.
